The Challenge

Staying ahead of the game whilst ensuring products are easy to use is important to any product manufacturer. Lychgate has undertaken several research projects for Tarmac (originally Lafarge Tarmac) to help in a number of ways.



The Approach

In broad terms, we have run focus groups, phone interview programmes and online surveys with builders, other small trades and merchants, according to project needs, to seek views on packaging. Product usage studies have also been undertaken.

The Outcome

The results have enabled market modelling, identifying several possible areas of opportunity with product concepts taken forward for development, pilot testing and launch.
